Sean Rasmussen Creates The YOTA Internet Marketing Forum

July 29, 2010

Sean-RasmussenI wanted to have a business in a briefcase, an internet marketing business that I could set up, tweak and then travel and work from anywhere in the world. I was over being a rat in the race, under the anvil of limitations!

My goal is fast becoming a reality. I met Sean Rasmussen at a seminar in Fiji in 2008. He was living the life of my dreams then and I wanted to know how he did that so I followed him, not physically mind you, but on the internet.

I kept an eye on him, yes I did and I watched him create the YOTA forum. Somehow he knew, quite quirky really because  he sent me an invite to join which I did.

Honestly I did not know what widgets, tags, permalinks, pinging, blogging, or search bots were. I even thought that URL was the capital letters of some place in Europe. I had no idea!

13 months later, I have marketing muscle, ping pizzaz, affiliate affluence, and blogging bravado and I am now launching myself out into the social sites to meet other bloggers.

What is the forum you ask?

  • The forum is made up of 12 moderators called ‘the zodiacs’ who man the forum for 17+ hours a day (they are even there on the weekends!) who pounce on your questions quick as a flash so you don’t have to wait very long for an answer
  • There is tons of information and education on internet marketing, videos, article libraries, how to’s and how not to’s. Sean even gives you access to  your own blog set up and teaches you the steps.

What if you are totally tech dumb like I was?

  • No problem, there is a great beginners area with a 30 day step by step plan, with a flow chart to follow if you are visual like me. That is where I began

What is the support like?

  • The moderators have been hand picked by Sean and trained to an elite standard
  • They are very clever and loads of fun
  • Even the forum members jump in and help each other, you are never alone.

How can I find out more about the YOTA  internet marketing forum?

The best way to learn more is to have some experience of what I am talking about. Up on the right there is an affiliate book that you can download the leaked version for free and it will be available from August onward. I started with the book and got an idea of whether or not internet marketing was for me, and I probably ask more questions than anyone but I found that the moderators love questions, even the goofy ones I ask (not going to embarrass myself telling you here). Every week I will give you an update on how I am going, so you can get some tips about social media SEO and my funny mistakes.

Working From Home – be a master of time

May 24, 2010

Part 1.

Here I am thinking about what to write today as there are so many choices. My desk faces out onto the beautiful sun sprinkled waters of Lake Macquarie and I feel great. I look at the clock and see that 15 minutes has been gobbled up in 1 minute, or so it seems.  Yes, it’s my old friend Procrastination, or Pro as I call her. She woke up the same time as me this morning and is schlepping around my desk.

I prefer to call her Pro because she is a master at robbing time from me.

I have tried so many times to get ahead of her sneaky tricks, but she has outsmarted me time and time again (pardon the pun)

Working from home is such a blessing, but I need great discipline because Pro has decided to work from home too. Somehow, she got into my car on the last day as I was leaving my full time JOB last year, and snuck  into my home and she just lingers around now waiting for me to catch her out.  She loves to play games. She told me that there are millions and millions of clones of her all around the world. I could hardly believe that she could stay focused long enough to duplicate herself so many times, but like I said, she is sneaky!

I talked to her once and she told me personally that she did not want me to be successful, because if I was, I would have more responsibility, less time with my family and less time doing things that I love. She said that she was protecting me from having to work harder and perhaps ’burn out’  like I did once before, many years ago. She revealed to me that when I work, fully focused, I do it with such intensity and passion that she feels she has been made redundant!

What a revelation that was.

Hmm, I was beginning to think that she was also in the little voice that tried to bring me back into balance from just being a work jerk and trying to get me to lay off and relax every now and then. On one hand, because I have the ability to override her, she has had to be sneaky.  On the other hand she can be a huge source of fun at times and sometimes I get so caught up with her I  forget what I was doing before she interrupted me. Have you had that experience?.

And it was interesting what I learnt about the fear of success too. I have to admit, between you and me, that she is right.  I subconsciously (probably not you though) equate success with hard work and less time.

So I have adopted the saying “simple easy and fun”. Something I learned from Neuro Linguistic Programming about changing my approach to my work, my concepts about success and my whole attitude towards doing what I love.

It is OK to do what I love, and when I gave myself permission to do what I love (one of the things is what I am doing right  now,’ writing’ to you) Ms Pro was able to have some time off herself, relax and recharge her batteries.

In part 2 I will show you a few great ideas and tricks of my own to prevent procrastination from stealing your time, being unproductive and sabotaging your success to creating wealth and lifestyle.

Now Ms Pro is off the hook for the moment, I am off to practice some music for half an hour and have lunchtime!  Hmmmm there’s a lovely lake out there…………

Tales from the flying carpet – “tether your camels”

April 29, 2010

Ishmael was sitting cross legged on the floor of his family home having just returned from his first great adventure and telling his family and friends about a very important lesson he had learned while treking with a caravan of camel traders through the mighty Sahara Desert. The elder leading the procession of traders was Saabir,  head of Ishmael ’s tribal village and a man who was highly respected for his wit and wisdom.

Saabir was a quiet and very religious man who relied on Allah for all his decisions, such was his deep and unshakable faith in the almighty.  All day Saabir would recite learned text from the holy books, and neither eat or drink until sundown .

Ishmael was impressed with Saabirs’ devotion and respect grew between the two men while on the month long journey.

On the second to last night, before they reached the markets, the men, tired and hungry stopped at a sheltering oasis. Ishmael began the arduous job of tying all the camels to  the palm trees. Saabir told Ishmael to stop, that it was not necessary. “you see” said Saabir “such is my faith, that Allah will take care of my camels even as we sleep”.

Impressed at Saabirs’  total devotion, Ishmael did as he was asked and they both  fell quickly into a deep sleep.

In the morning when they awoke, they discovered the camels had gone. There was not a trace of them. The whole trek had been for nothing and old Saabir was devastated.

“The moral of the story” said Ishmael to his family, “is to have faith in Allah but tie your camels up each night!”

Wealth Creation and Living The Life Style of your Dreams

April 20, 2010

avatarWelcome to  a place for transformation

  • If you are looking at replacing your income and only having to work for about 1 to 2 hours a month then you can know right now that wealth creation is possible.
  • Would you like to have more time with your family and children or time to spend on your favourite hobby?  Then know that building a lifestyle of your dreams is possible.
  • How about if you never had to work for a boss again but could work from home and still make the same money and even more once you knew that it was possible?
  • What if I told you that my dream is to have a business in a briefcase and travel the world helping others and making money while I get on with other things?  It’s not only possible, I am building it already and well on the way to financial freedom.

I am an ordinary person just like you,  doing extra ordinary things every moment of every day. I was always thinking about how I could get out of the rat race and live a lifestyle that allowed me all the time I wanted, to spend with my friends, and family, doing creative things and making sure that work didn’t interfere with my social life!  A lifestyle where I could have the  funding and resources to help those who were disadvantaged and to be able to share my success  and knowledge with others and inspire them to do the same.

One thing I did find out early in my journey is that a “get rich quick scheme” is doomed to failure and it is always necessary to  make a plan and set goals and diligently keep focused on what I wanted, ignoring all invitations that tried to sway me off my path!  Sounds superhuman doesn’t it, and as I am not that, I certainly made some mistakes along the way and got distracted at times but I still held fast to my goal and taught myself to keep that focus.

When a dream starts to become a reality it is a very exciting place to be, and I will be sharing with you  how I got to where I am right now, and how you can do the same.

I only work a few short hours a month on my trading technique to make the equivalent of what I was making for a whole month in a full time job. If you take into account traveling and hours spent away from home every day, for me it was about 200 +hours a month.  Just imagine for a minute what you could use that time for if  it was all yours to spend, and virtually make money while you are sleeping!  That alone for some people would be enough of a lifestyle to put them into seventh heaven.

I learnt through one of my  mentors,  that  to be more than sufficiently wealthy and not put all my eggs in one basket, I would need about 5 streams of income from different sources. I had to think hard about this, after all there are alot of hours to fill and I wanted to do something fun and exciting. I had been following Sean Rasmussen (Y.O.T.A) closely on his Universal Wealth Creation site and started to become very interested in his internet marketing knowledge. I am not a person who likes selling but I do like helping people to take control and enrich their lives and teach them skills that add great value.

For many years I have been training myself to think positively and became an NLP practitioner so that I could use and enhance the skills I was taught by Anthony Robbins and pass them on to my family. Eventually I started to coach women using many of these techniques and used them in my practice as a Kinesiologist with far reaching results. I was very right brain dominant and through positive self talk and training I have a balanced ability to do both left and right brain tasks. Just taking the time and patience needed to set up and write this blog would have been out of the question for me even a year ago.

What I attribute for my fast ascension to  achieving so many of my goals without doubt is a positive mindset and saying I can find a way to do it rather than I can’t. You can totally transform your life by making small degrees of change  each day which accumulate into huge changes over time, like compounding interest (which  Einstein called the 8th wonder of the world!)

I know that if I can do this you can too. The way to begin learning new things in your life is to break the steps  down into mini steps or small chunks. When we sit down to dinner, we don’t try to force all the food on our plate into our mouth in one go as that would make us gag! To really enjoy a meal, we eat bite size pieces. Likewise taking big leaps in learning means we can miss many steps in between which create gaps in our overall knowledge. Rushing to the goal instead of walking causes stress and results in overwhelm. When stress is up, learning is out.
